Portugal Job Seeker Visa

The work search visa entitles its holder to enter and remain on national territory for the purpose of searching for work, as well as engage in dependent employment, until the visa expires or a residence permit is granted.

This visa is valid for 120 days, can be extended for an additional 60 days, and only permits one entry into Portugal.

The issuance of this visa is contingent upon the incorporation of an appointment date in the competent services for the granting of the residence permit, within the 120-day validity period of the visa, and grants the applicant the right to request a residence permit upon the establishment and formalization of an employment relationship within that period. To do so, the applicant must satisfy the general requirements for the issuance of a provisional residence permit, as stated in Article 77.

The visa recipient must depart the country once the maximum validity period of the visa for pursuing employment has expired without the establishment of an employment relationship and the process of applying for a residence permit has begun.
